To: Philippines

Dearest Philippines,

It must be excruciating to be named as Philippines, right? After all, you have survived too much, you have seen too much, and you have been into different circumstances that we can say weren't really that good.

But here's the thing.
Tomorrow, you will be at your weakest. You will be at your most vulnerable state, but I pray and hope that  the people, after that day, will make you at your strongest.

Tomorrow, you will witness something that don't happen in your ordinary days. Sure tomorrow, there will crimes, perhaps, even higher crime rates for all we know. But hopefully, your people will do something to alleviate your pain. I hope that they will choose well and I hope that they would do something to see you in your better days.

Tomorrow, you will once again feel again the "full force power" of being a democratic country. And I hope every people understands this. I hope that no amount of material thing or money would buy this special opportunity to pick your leader.

Tomorrow, I hope that your people will not make the same mistakes they had before. I hope they realize how mighty you are and what you can be in the hands of a good leader.

I do not want to feel sorry for you because I believe in your greatness and capabilities, may your people also realize this too. May they also think of the consequences of their actions before they exercise their right to vote. May they never regret. May they always be proud to say that, "I opted for the best for my country, my motherland."

May your people never settle for less.

Good luck.

Sincerly,
Maria Cecilia Jhadziah B. Diva
